By April I got a place for PhD at Imperial College London and subsequently got a scholarship from KPT. This was considered very lucky since my faculty was out of votes for UK. (Later I learned that KPT made a mistake so terpaksa bagi je extra vote).
So everything was settled, sign agreement ape semua, siap buat kenduri kesyukuran lagi (thanks kepada yang datang). Suddenly I got an email saying that I got the Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarship for a 9 months course at Cambridge (I applied for this course last year then reapplied this year just for fun, haha).
I asked around and everyone said it an oppurtunity not to be missed. Defer my admission to Imperial first, they say. Pergi Cambridge dulu pastu baru start PhD kat Imperial, dapat dua2 sekali. Just one problem, if I don't go this year, KPT will give my scholar to someone else and I have to reapply next year (go tru the whole process again, yikes!). Moreover, there are only 12 places for the UK next year (10 of it almost sure to be given to certain individuals). Yeah rite, fat chance!
So let go a chance of a lifetime to go to Cambridge or let go a confirmed UK PhD scholarship? To be continued........
